This is a poster I did for the February
Fancy + Pants gallery show, Amplifier Worship(er) - New Work by
Garek J Druss. The show opening is Friday, the 8th from 6 - 9pm.

These are the fabulous rings my sister and I had Sally Brock, jewelry designer extraordinaire and owner of Fancy + Pants in down town Seattle, design for us for Christmas. Mine is the pink stoned ring to the right - not only is it georgous but I could seriously bust someone up. Sally was awesome. We came to her trunk show earlier in the month, picked out a stone we liked, then let Sally have at it. This is a shout out to you Sally - Your our favorite Jewelry designer in Seattle. Keep up the good work!!
Miami Beach is where neon goes to die.

So neon colors are it - at least for this week! There is nothing more sexy they a little punch of chartreuse or hot pink to make something pop. I’m not talking about obnoxious 80’s colors with geometric shapes - more like an all blues Seahawks uniform with a thin strip of neon green on the sleave. Sexy.

My husband and I took a trip to Phoenix for New Years and decided to go to Tombstone for a day. Everything there was a giant tourist trap. We did stumble upon the the studio housing all of the old equipment for the The Tombstone Epitaph newspaper - which printed their first issue in 1880. This was the newspaper during the crazy western days of Wyatt Earp and the Shoot out at the O.K. Corral. Me, being a letterpress fanatic, found it to be the best part of the trip. I had to refrain myself from grabbing this explosive wood block and running away with it. These are all the original cuts and type used for the newspaper. The presses where also very impressive. All of the newspaper was handset with lead type and funky wood composing sticks. If you find yourself in the Old West, this is certainly something to check out.

So I’m obsessed with L.A.M.B. I just got done surfing through her new fragrance web site and I’m in love!! Her color pallet is awesome on the box, and then to mix that with the funky green ‘n red glass bottle, gold, topped with mint green in genious. Plus it uses blackletter and the perfume smells divine. The web site is cool too. I love how she incorporates the very ornate blackletter with the super geometric L pattern in the back. Gwen Stefani - Your Amazing!!!

This was my favorite umbrella from Design Commission’s recent show, Chance of Showers. I love Erin’s Illustration Style. Her piece is called View and it was one of the first Umbrellas purchased. Check out more about the show and other umbrellas here.
