Holiday Plates by Martha Stewart
These plates are from Martha Stewarts new holiday collection dinnerware at Macys. I think buying dishes specifically for a holiday is incredibly frivolous - but this cute pattern and great color scheme made me want to purchase a set. Way to go Martha - these are amazing.

More Fantastic Wallpapers!!
Here are some more modern wallpapers I found on Walnut Wallpaper’s web site . The black bird paper I saw on the walls in a cute clothing boutique in Ballard. I liked it because the seam is right through the middle of the tree trunk, so ther is no need to align the paper perfectly to a pattern. The little whales are my favorite. They had them advertised in Domino for a childrens room or...
New Madonna! Hotter then Ever!
I try and stick to things related to design and Catch & Release for this blog, but I couldn’t help but proclaim my excitment for Madonna’s new album, Hard Candy. I guess I could justify by saying creativity comes from everywhere. I have been counting the days until Tuesday, the release date, but then I discovered that she has posted the full album on her Myspace. Yay!!! It is...
Wallpaper is Back!! And cooler then ever.
When I think of wallpaper, I imagine that horrible pink, paint brushed flower border paper my mom put up in my room as a kid. I’m sure much of that is still around, but I’m so excited to finally discover some stylish, colorful patterns I would put up in my own home. My friend Cari sent me this awesome wallpaper pic. Its from Domino Magazine’s story on Fashion Designer Lisa...

Sally Brock Rocks My Socks OFF!!
These are the fabulous rings my sister and I had Sally Brock, jewelry designer extraordinaire and owner of Fancy + Pants in down town Seattle, design for us for Christmas. Mine is the pink stoned ring to the right - not only is it georgous but I could seriously bust someone up. Sally was awesome. We came to her trunk show earlier in the month, picked out a stone we liked, then let Sally have at...
Miami Beach is where neon goes to die.
– Lenny Bruce
Neon is Back!!
So neon colors are it - at least for this week! There is nothing more sexy they a little punch of chartreuse or hot pink to make something pop. I’m not talking about obnoxious 80’s colors with geometric shapes - more like an all blues Seahawks uniform with a thin strip of neon green on the sleave. Sexy.
Letterpress In the Old West
My husband and I took a trip to Phoenix for New Years and decided to go to Tombstone for a day. Everything there was a giant tourist trap. We did stumble upon the the studio housing all of the old equipment for the The Tombstone Epitaph newspaper - which printed their first issue in 1880. This was the newspaper during the crazy western days of Wyatt Earp and the Shoot out at the O.K. Corral. Me,...

I Love Gwen Stefani
So I’m obsessed with L.A.M.B. I just got done surfing through her new fragrance web site and I’m in love!! Her color pallet is awesome on the box, and then to mix that with the funky green ‘n red glass bottle, gold, topped with mint green in genious. Plus it uses blackletter and the perfume smells divine. The web site is cool too. I love how she incorporates the very ornate...
Erin Kendig + Umbrella = Super Cool
This was my favorite umbrella from Design Commission’s recent show, Chance of Showers. I love Erin’s Illustration Style. Her piece is called View and it was one of the first Umbrellas purchased. Check out more about the show and other umbrellas here.
